Week‘s Highlights:

 

Literacy Topic – Nursery Rhymes - This week we read Roses are Red, Ring around the Rosie, It’s raining, It’s pouring, Rain Rain Go Away, Jack be Nimble, Little Jack Horner, Jack and Jill, Little Miss Muffet

Literacy skills – listening for environmental sounds, body awareness, learning left and right

Math- sorting and classifying different attributes about shoes. Played in work places – unifix cubes, pattern blocks, polydrons, and geoboards

Rules- The 3 Safes, recess safety, gym safety

Exploring the Room: Art center, dramatic play area,  doll house, play dough, and fine motor activities. Learning how to play at each center area and how to tidy up when we are done.

Music & Movement- learning about gym safety, changing our shoes

 

Notes and Reminders:

 

Dismissal Reminder: please pick up your children at 3:30 if you need to pick-up your student before 3:30 please get a white slip from the office – if you have a change in your child’s pick-up routine please be sure to contact me prior to 2:00.

Music and Movement: Please bring an extra change of Music and Movement shoes to stay at school for music and movement time.

Friday Folders:  Please return empty on Monday.

Please bring in your star student picture pages. Thank you to all those who already turned them in!

September 13: School messenger system will be sending out a drill to make sure you are connected to our emergency system. If you do not get a phone call from our system, please contact Annie at the front desk to make sure she has your correct phone number.

Hints for Home:   

Read each day with your child for at least 20 minutes

Practice tying shoes

Practice reciting the nursery rhymes we have learned.
